NestKeeper Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 October 2026
NestKeeper is a home inventory app made by Nuggy Pty Ltd (ABN 56 249 346 022), based in Toowoomba, Queensland ("Nuggy", "we", "us"). This policy explains what personal information NestKeeper collects, why, where it goes and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
If you have a question, email us at hi@nuggy.au.
The short version
- We collect what you put into NestKeeper (your email address, your home's rooms, storage spots and items, and photos of them) so the app can work.
- Your inventory is private to you and the people you invite into your home.
- Your data is stored with Supabase in Sydney. A few services we rely on are overseas (mostly in the United States): see "Who we share it with".
- When you use photo recognition or value estimates, the photo or item details are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI to get an answer.
- We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and the app has no advertising or analytics trackers.
- You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your information at any time.
What we collect
Your account
- Email address. You sign in with a one-time link or code sent to your email, or with Google or Apple.
- Details from Google or Apple, if you sign in with them: your name, email address and, for Google, your profile picture link. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only get Apple's relay address.
- Sign-in records kept by our database provider, such as when you signed in and the IP address used, for security.
Early access
While NestKeeper is in early access, you ask to join before using it. We keep your email address, the name and note you give us, whether you've been approved, and when. Your request is emailed to us so we can approve it, and we email you when you're in.
Your inventory
- The name of your home, and the rooms, storage units (such as shelves or cupboards), boxes and containers you set up, including where they sit and the QR code stickers that link to them.
- Items: name, category, keywords, photo, whether it's stored, for sale or sold, and its estimated value.
- Value estimates: the price range, what the estimate was based on, and a few example listings used to work it out.
- Sale listings you write on the Sell screen: title, price, condition, description, pickup details and where you've listed it.
Please don't photograph or describe things you'd rather keep private (such as documents with personal details on them). Photos are stored as you take them, so anything visible in a photo is stored too.
Household sharing
- Who belongs to each home and their role (owner or member).
- Invites: the code or link, who created it, when it expires and who used it.
- If you invite someone by email, we store their email address and send them an email that includes your home's name and your email address. The link only works for that email address.
Problem reports
If you use "Report a problem", we keep your message, your email address, the screen you were on, your device type, the app version and your browser or device details. The report is also emailed to us.
eBay (optional)
- Valuations search eBay's public listings using the item's name or the search you enter. No personal information is sent to eBay for this.
- Connecting your eBay account lets you post listings from NestKeeper. We store the access tokens eBay gives us (on our servers only, never in the app) and the pickup postcode you enter. When you post a listing, we send eBay the listing details you wrote, the item's photo (through a private link that expires after a day) and your postcode as the item location. Once posted, the listing is public on eBay and eBay's own privacy notice applies to it.
- You can disconnect your eBay account in the app at any time, which deletes the stored tokens.
On your device
The app stores a few things on your phone or in your browser so it works smoothly: your signed-in session, which home you last opened, and an invite link you opened before signing in. If you try NestKeeper without an account, the sample inventory is stored only on your device. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies in the app.
Camera and photos
On phones, NestKeeper asks for camera access so you can photograph items and scan QR stickers. We only use the camera when you choose to. On the web, you choose a photo from your device.
The Nuggy website contact form
If you use the contact form on nuggy.au, we keep your name, business name, email, phone number (if given), message and IP address. The IP address is used to stop spam. Your message is emailed to us so we can reply.
How we use it
- To run NestKeeper: sign you in, store and show your inventory, share it with your household, and send sign-in, invite and early access emails.
- To identify items in photos and estimate what they're worth, when you ask.
- To post listings to eBay, when you ask.
- To answer your questions and problem reports, and to fix and improve the app.
- To keep NestKeeper secure and prevent misuse.
- To meet our legal obligations.
We don't sell or rent your personal information, use it for advertising, or send you marketing emails without your consent.
AI features
NestKeeper uses Claude, an AI model made by Anthropic, for two things:
- Photo recognition. When you add an item with a photo, a smaller copy of the photo (and your existing category names) is sent to Anthropic to suggest a name, category and keywords.
- Rough value estimates. If eBay data isn't available, the item's name, category and keywords are sent to Anthropic for a rough price range.
Anthropic processes this to return a result to us. Under its commercial terms, Anthropic doesn't use this data to train its models, and it deletes it within 30 days. It may keep it longer only where needed to enforce its usage policy or to comply with the law. AI suggestions and estimates can be wrong, so check them.
Who we share it with
We use these service providers to run NestKeeper. They only get what they need to do their job:
- Supabase: database, sign-in, photo storage and server functions. Data is stored in Sydney, Australia; server functions may run in other regions. Supabase is a US company.
- Railway: hosts the NestKeeper web app (app.nestkeeper.au). It serves the app's files and doesn't store your inventory. Virginia, United States.
- Resend: sends our emails (sign-in links, invites, early access, problem reports). United States.
- Anthropic: AI photo recognition and value estimates. United States.
- eBay: valuations from public listings, and posting listings if you connect your account. United States and Australia.
- Google and Apple: sign-in, if you choose them. United States.
- Webflow: hosts our websites, nestkeeper.au and nuggy.au. United States.
People in your home can see and change everything in that home, including photos. People you invite by email see your email address and your home's name.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the providers above store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. We choose established providers with strong security practices, but overseas laws may not protect your information in the same way as Australian law. By using NestKeeper, you consent to this.
How we keep it secure
- Each home's data is protected by access rules in the database, so only that home's members can see it.
- Item photos are stored privately and only shown through short-lived links.
- eBay tokens and our service keys are kept on our servers, never in the app.
- Information is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
No system is perfectly secure. If we have a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, we'll tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
How long we keep it
- Your account and inventory: until you delete them or ask us to.
- Early access requests: while your account exists.
- Problem reports and contact form messages: as long as we need them to deal with the issue, then for up to 2 years.
- Emails we've received stay in our inbox (hi@nuggy.au) until we delete them.
- When information is deleted from our database, any copy in our database provider's backups is overwritten within 7 days.
Your choices and rights
- See or correct your information. Most of it you can see and change in the app. For anything else, email us.
- Delete things. You can delete items, photos, storage spots and rooms in the app, leave a home, remove members (if you're the owner) and disconnect eBay.
- Delete your account. In the app, go to Household and tap Delete my account. It happens straight away: we delete your account, your access request, your eBay connection, and any home where you're the only member, with everything and every photo in it. Homes you share stay with the other members. You can also email hi@nuggy.au from the address you sign in with, and we'll do it within 30 days. Problem reports you sent are kept as set out above, no longer linked to an account.
- Use NestKeeper without giving your name. You can sign in with just an email address.
We'll answer requests within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you first.
Children
NestKeeper isn't designed for children. If you're under 16, please use it with a parent or guardian's permission.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, email hi@nuggy.au and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when NestKeeper changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change affects you significantly, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
